We woke to a nice sunny morning and decided to go to Ely. As we were approaching Ely across the fens we could see Ely Cathedral dominating the skyline.
In Ely we parked up and no charge for parking, that was very welcome. Within a few minutes of walking we came upon the Cathedral towering upon us.

Meeting the locals.
Must say the town was well signposted for walkers, we decided to follow the signs to the riverside.

Samovar Tea House |
|
We understand there are at least 170 different varieties of tea |
On the the way we passed a very interesting Tea House that tempted us in. We were offered a choice from an amazing variety of teas. We settled on a pot of Assam Gentlemen and a pot of Greenbush Herbal. We must say, it was a very enjoyable experience, not only the taste of the teas but the whole ambience of the Tea House. Well worth a visit.

The tea house was filled with the chatter of ladies taking tea and cake, sitting beyond the partition. |

A Boat Yard along the Riverside |

We took a River trip along the River Great Ouse, after the skipper had cleared his propeller of plastic wrapping. |
