We've found ourselves in Hitchin again as our Adria is having a new cupboard door fitted.
As a treat we booked ourselves overnight in The Hitchin Priory a
14 C building, formerly a Carmelite Monastery.
The building was requisitioned by Henry the V111 and given to the Radcliffe family.

Hitchin Priory has 19 acres of parkland, only 2 minutes to the town |
|
Hitchin market town grew wealthy on grain, sheep, cattle, cloth-making, brewing, tanning and associated trades. |
|
Hitchin has retained many of the ancient houses |
|
When walking around the town there was an abundance of eating places, over 50 we were told. The one we chose offered a very relaxed ambience and a delicious meal. |
