We prepared a packed lunch and set off along the beach heading towards Southwold.

The beach is a mixture of pebble and sand dunes |

Between Benacre Broad and Covehithe Broad we ventured inland a short distance to see the ruins of Covehithe Church.
|
We followed the cliff path |
We came across lots of working farms rearing pigs - bigger than you think and not to be messed with particularly when they have piglets to protect -
|
Along the cliff path we noticed there is much evidence of land erosion |

Stopped here for lunch |
After our pitstop, we continued our walk along the beach.
|
We were fortunate to see a baby seal resting on the beach. |
We watched the youngster make its way to the sea.
We asked a local passing dog walker if this was a common occurrence on this beach. She replied it was, but the fishermen didn't encourage their presence.
|
8 miles later at Southwold .. Time for a cup of tea .... |
|
Caught the bus back to Kessingland |
