Another day on our bikes, this time following tracks and narrow lanes around the New Forest.

Interesting..... Helicopter just landed |
Think it maybe an Air Ambulance to the rescue |
Taking a breather to check out the Forest Ponies |
I'll stay this side of the fence and you Ponies stay the other..... |
That was lucky... managed to avoid the bog.... |
Came across the old station |
Now a Tea Room |
Stopped off at Burley |
Had our sandwiches and watched the cricket ... |
One more slurp before back on the road ....
We finally headed back to the Caravan site, on the way we stopped off at the New Forest Airfields Memorial
I suppose, if you think about it, the New forest was in a prime location for military activity. Very close to the coast and the densely wooded areas would have provided excellent natural cover from the skies.
There must have been many troops in the area, far outnumbering the locals. Especially leading up to D-Day. There must have been an incredible feeling of anticipation that something big was about to happen.

Not far to cycle back to our Adria ..... and No Flat tyres today.... |
