Ferry crossing

This was us down at Portsmouth waiting for our ferry and the morning sun off Le Harvre.
Had an interesting journey down almost without  incident apart from a crucial diversion around Blois, could have done without that. Also, got scuffed by a French lorry so have thin scratch along side, can't believe another half mm would have missed us. French roads though as good as ever, why can't we lay tarmac like they can. It does seem though, in the towns it's not so good. Maybe the roads outside are maintained by a French type highway agency and the towns by the local mayor. Perhaps he spent the road budget on a few lunches.
DFDS could invest in some comfortable overnight chairs! Thank goodness for our  little investment in neck cushions!
